Our Campaign Goals
|
Protecting Natural Areas through Land Acquisition
$3.5 Million |
The strategic addition of carefully selected forests and wetlands will dramatically strengthen the ecological integrity of our ecosystem. During the next five years, we
plan to secure up to ten additional green spaces adjacent to the Preserve.
|
Restoring Natural Assets through Land Stewardship
$1.5 Million |
Even land that has been protected from development is vulnerable to damage from non-native plants, overabundant deer, and other factors. Over time our fragile
natural assets can be lost without ecological restoration efforts. Current critical
projects include: completing the Raytharn Farm meadows; rescuing the Paper Mill Road woods; and restoring the Webb Memorial Walk.
|
Preserving the Land through Endowment
$1 Million |
| The lands that have been acquired and restored require constant maintenance to
allow visitors to both learn from and enjoy them. Funds raised to increase the Trust’s endowment will ensure the necessary maintenance of trails, meadows, and forests in the Preserve, now and into the future.
